Married At First Sight (MAFS) season six bride and success story Jules Robinson has revealed the final message that she sent to Mel Schilling before she passed away following her battle with colon cancer.
On Tuesday evening, news of Schilling’s death sent shockwaves across the globe as the 54-year-old relationship expert had played a massive role in one of Australia’s biggest shows in history, MAFS.

A day following the devastating announcement, Robinson — who appeared on MAFS in 2019 and found love with her reality TV match Cameron Merchant — shared a tribute to Schilling, remembering her as a “friend” who was “grounded, wise and deeply authentic in everything she did”.

In a subsequent Instagram Story, the season six bride revealed her final message to the expert before she passed away, describing it as a “little moment of connection”.
In the screenshot, Robinson’s message read: “Just messaging to tell [sic] that I love you and I’m thinking of you xxx”.
“I sent Mel a message last night before bed… and waking to this, I’m choosing to believe there was a little moment of connection there. That brings me some comfort,” Robinson wrote alongside the screenshot.

Robinson’s other half, Merchant, also shared a post in Schilling’s honour, thanking the relationship expert for their “incredible friendship”.
“We are beyond shattered,” he penned.
“You are a beautiful soul @mel_schilling1 thank you for your incredible friendship. Thank you for being so inspiring. Rest peacefully. We will love you always.”

In 2023, Schilling revealed that she’d been diagnosed with colon cancer. Days before her death, she shared that the cancer had spread to her brain.
Schilling’s husband, Gareth, confirmed the news via Instagram on Tuesday evening, remembering the reality TV star as “an incredible mum, role model, and soulmate”.
Friends, family and members of the MAFS family have since shared tributes for the beloved relationship expert.
