Razer just announced a competitive gaming mouse that fixes several of the most annoying aspects of competing mice, including some older options from Razer. The newly announced Razer Viper V4 Pro promises better battery life, smoother gameplay, and crisper clicks.
The Viper V4 Pro gets up to 180 hours of battery life when set to 1,000Hz. That number dips to a still-impressive 45 hours when the mouse is set to 8,000Hz.
A 50,000 DPI Optical Gen-3 sensor sits inside the Viper V4 Pro. Razer's sensor tech syncs frames with your mouse for lower latency and better battery efficiency.
Razer just launched the Viper V4 Pro. You can purchase the competitive gaming mouse for $159.99 through Razer's website.
The Razer Viper V3 Pro earned a nearly perfect score in our review. The mouse received praise for its design, build quality, feet, sensors, and polling rate. We also called the Viper V3 Pro the "must‑buy competitive mouse" last holiday season when it went on sale.
The Viper V4 Pro improves on its predecessor in several ways.

I'd say Razer didn't reinvent the wheel with the Viper V4 Pro, but that isn't exactly true. The Viper V4 Pro has an optical scroll wheel that's 3.3 times more reliable and consistent than a traditional mechanical design, according to Razer. Notably, the Viper V3 Pro has a mechanical scroll wheel.
The Viper V4 Pro also has Razer Optical Mouse Switches (Gen-4), which should last for more clicks.
Razer shaved a bit of weight when making the Viper V4 Pro. It's 9% lighter than the last gen.

Even the dongle of the Viper V4 Pro is improved compared to that of the Viper V3 Pro. The dongle is larger and hemispherical, which Razer says improves connectivity and stability.
Razer debuted its hemispherical dongle with the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro. In our review of that mouse, Zachary Boddy said:
"This may be my favorite single improvement Razer made with the DeathAdder V4 Pro, honestly, and I hope to see this dongle design come to all of Razer's most premium wireless accessories."
Well, their wish may be coming true, at least for high-end Razer mice.
Many of the changes introduced with the Viper V4 Pro would go unnoticed by most gamers. But if you want the best experience Razer to offer for competitive gameplay, the Viper V4 Pro is the mouse to grab.
Is the Razer Viper V4 Pro right-handed or symmetrical?
The shape of the Razer Viper V4 Pro is symmetrical, but the mouse is optimized for right-handed use due to its button placement.
