DARK SECRETS: This amazing legend zelda figure recreates my favorite game in the series but costs almost double the switch 2 | Vintage Vibes

Wind Waker Link in the King of Red Lions figure or a foaming sea.

I went through a real rollercoaster of emotions with this Legend of Zelda figure. On the one hand, it's an incredibly detailed recreation of my favorite thing about my favorite game in the franchise – sailing across the Wind Waker seas. On the other? It costs nearly twice as much as a Switch 2.

"Link on the King of Red Lions" shows off the Hero of Wind (which, I'll admit, is an unfortunate title) at the helm of his trusty talking boat. It doesn't just seem to be your average plastic statue, though. Alongside nailing that cell-shaded design that makes it look like it's rolled off the screen, the figure boasts incredible attention to detail like chipped paint on the planks. Unlike so many of the best toys, it also employs mixed media to great effect with what looks to be a cloth sail. It blows the best Legend of Zelda merch out of the water.

This isn't the only amazing Wind Waker merch out there, of course; the much cheaper Link Nendoroid figure is also available. While it's available at Amazon, that's an inflated price so you're better off hitting Crunchyroll (though I'm having a bit of trouble clicking through, so it could be sold out). Meanwhile, UK fans can find it for £59.99 at Amazon.

The downside is that price. The standard version of this model (which is technically a re-release) is $756. Meanwhile, the Exclusive model – which has a light-up base, from what I can tell – is an eye-watering $815.99. That's nearly double what the Nintendo Switch 2 costs.

Now, don't get me wrong. I don't want to yuk anyone's yum. Value is subjective, and you can't put a price on high-quality artistry. But damn, son. That's a lot of rupees. If only getting real-world money was as easy as it is in Legend of Zelda…

Anyway, if you like the look of this thing (and frankly, who wouldn't), you can pre-order it direct from First4Figures.
