The floppy disk one annoyed me, First, they existed since the 1960s. Second, only the much later 3.5 inch ones, and indeed only the later versions of those, could be formatted to hold 1.4Mb. Came down here to snigger about the name ‘fånny pack’. An American woman I knew came to the UK in the mid-90s (when Americanisms were a lot less well known than they are now). She went into Marks and Spencers and asked for a fånny pack. The staff stared at her with a cross between confusion and horror. In case you don’t know, in the UK the word ‘fånny’ is used to mean vülva/vågina. All I can think is they thought it was a weird name for sanitary pads.
