Hey pandas, what do you think should have never been invented?

I realize the irony of this as I post this, but social media. Particularly Twitter, but I think that Twitter has done harm to society by harnessing the worst parts of people. Bully campaigns because a person has a view you don't like, a religion you don't like, or a race/sex you don't like, rage without end, and those tweets gets quoted and replied to, and people have become more polarized than ever. Polarized to the point that if you don't agree, then your "silence is violence" and so violence is justified against those that dare disagree with your particular brand of groupthink.
styrofoam for sure i get that its useful somewhat but do you know how bad that stuff is for the environment like it literally does not decompose and if you try to burn it you can kill yourself with toxic fumes... so it just lives forever. not okay.
Private health insurance (and, by extension, unregulated capitalism). I think it's utterly immoral to profit from the suffering of others, and all health insurance companies make billions denying patients proper health care. Disgusting.

I second Truth Monster here: Social Media. Smartphones as a close second, but that is mostly related to the former.
