A father allegedly groomed and took explicit photos of his daughter over several years.
Police allege that he directed the child to pose for photos while she was undressed.
On Thursday, September 24, police officers searched a north Canberra home where the man, aged in his early 30s, was arrested.
Officers seized three mobile phones and located suspected child abuse material on one of the devices.
He was set to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday and has been charged with committing an act of indecency on a child under 10, committing an act of indecency on a child under 16, and child grooming. The charges were aggravated by family violence.
"If you or someone you know has been affected by sexual violence, you can report to police by attending a police station or calling 131444," an ACT Policing spokesperson said in a release.
"You can also submit an online report for historical sexual assault for incidents that occurred more than six months ago."
