This article includes a lot of my favorites - like the one about our first date and the one where we had a weird smell in our apartment and spent hours crawling around sniffing everything like two weirdos. One of the things I enjoy about making these comics is drawing VERY silly facial expressions and poses, the more of them in a single comic - the better!

My Beanie comics also include stories from my childhood and my teenage years - basically whatever amusing story I can remember from my life - I go ahead and draw it. I've been making these autobiographical comics for almost 3 years now, and it's been a surreal experience having people read and respond to them. It's always incredibly special when a comic resonates with someone.

My goal in making these is to brighten people's day, so if someone finds a comic heartwarming, sweet or just a little amusing - I'm very happy. I started out drawing these comics as a silly online diary and a creative outlet on the side of my job and it grew into something bigger and I'm grateful for it every day. For anyone out there who's interested in making autobiographical comics - I definitely recommend it, I think it's a very fun way to document your feelings and life. It doesn't have to be read by anybody else, but posting them online can be fun too! 

I am also a comic and picture book author/illustrator, so if you like the look of these comics, you might like my books too! My first Beanie comic collection is for sale in most places books are sold and I have my first picture book "Emi Isn't Scared of Monsters" coming out in August this year! I'd also love to make more story-based comics and graphic novels. I'm a huge fan of fantasy so I'm hoping to draw a graphic novel with a fantastical twist in the near future.
