My wife and I had a large circle of friends and I also played soccer/football for two teams, so the numbers would have been way more than we could afford. We had parents about eight of our closest friends and got married in a registry office. We let all of our friends know there was a party at ours in the evening and to bring a bottle. Cost about a couple of hundred quid for a bit of food and some drink and we had an absolute blast. I didn't actually go to bed before being picked up to play for my Sunday side. Went on honeymoon on Monday.

I'm so glad we had a minimal ceremony. Our wedding party was me, her, my best friend (best man), her best friend (maid of honor), and my three young stepkids. Our guests were my dad and siblings, her parents and siblings, a grandfather, and a grandmother... done. We went out for Chinese after...
