My wife and I had a large circle of friends and I also played soccer/football for two teams, so the numbers would have been way more than we could afford. We had parents about eight of our closest friends and got married in a registry office. We let all of our friends know there was a party at ours in the evening and to bring a bottle. Cost about a couple of hundred quid for a bit of food and some drink and we had an absolute blast. I didn't actually go to bed before being picked up to play for my Sunday side.
